Experimentation in teaching Genetics: DNA extraction from natural products

Brazil is a country that has vast wealth of fruit species and using natural products as tool for teaching been reported an interesting possibility student learning. Objective: The objective this work to present DNA extraction protocol in Science teaching. Methodology: methodological proposal consists the genetic material accessible low-cost materials, namely: a) passion fruit; b) Tomato; c) Papaya; d) Banana; e) Onion; f) Garlic, g) Grape h) Kiwi. Initially, pectin can be obtained, complex carbohydrate appears whitish structure rich bubbles forms at top alcoholic phase, molecule, compacted together with histonic non-histonic proteins, visualized macroscopically.
